Our journey began when we met as coworkers at 3oak Handcrafted, where we discovered our shared passions and complementary skills. We are excited to share our story and creations with you.

Meet the Founders

Hannah Councill

    Hannah Councill, a passionate candle maker and co-founder of this venture, invites you to explore the handcrafted wonders of her creative journey. At 27 years old, Hannah has traveled a path that led her to the picturesque town of Brevard, NC, where she now resides.

    Originally from High Point, NC, Hannah moved to Canada at the age of 13. Every summer, she eagerly returned to North Carolina to attend Rockbrook Camp, where she discovered her love for candle making. Those transformative summers planted the seed that Brevard would one day be her forever home, a dream she has been living since 2018.

    Hannah shares many of her adventures with her twin sister and receives unwavering support from her amazing boyfriend, Joe, and their adorable grey cat, Woofy. Her love for animals extends to horses, and she often finds peace and joy hiking her favorite local trail, accompanied by a good audiobook or true crime podcast.

    Hannah finds immense joy in life's simple pleasures, always taking time to appreciate the little things. She embodies a "stop and smell the roses" philosophy, cherishing every moment. Kathleen Stratton

    Kathleen is from Atlanta, GA, and grew up in Orlando, FL. She now lives in the serene town of Sapphire, NC surrounded by waterfalls and forests. Kathleen attended the University of North Florida, where she studied photography. Initially, she spent many years working in accounting but later returned to college to earn a degree in Forest Management Technology.

    It was during her time as a coworker with Hannah at 3oak Handcrafted that she learned the art of candle making. This launched a passion to create candles that bring the outdoors in or to people that may not have the ability to experience Kathleen's favorite aspects of life. 

    Kathleen's love for nature and outdoor activities is boundless. She enjoys hiking, running, and riding bikes, immersing herself in the beauty of the outdoors. She shares her home with Whiskers, a longhaired orange cat who brings joy and companionship to her life.
